About Me
Hi, I’m Marriah Hanson — the heart, hands, and eyes behind Hanson Photography.
I’m someone who feels things deeply, notices details most people miss, and believes that connection is one of the most meaningful parts of being human. Photography became my way of holding onto the feelings behind a moment — not just the moment itself. The laugh you can hear even in a silent image. The warmth you can almost step back into. The truth you can feel without needing any explanation.
Before I ever picked up a camera professionally, I was the person documenting everything — the way light changes the mood of a room, the way people soften around the ones they love, the way a single expression can say what words can’t. I’m endlessly fascinated by people and the small stories they tell without realizing it.
I’m based in the MSP area, and I specialize in portraits, couples, and family photography that leans into warmth, honesty, and emotion. When I show up to a session, I’m not just thinking about photos — I’m thinking about how to help you feel seen, comfortable, and genuinely yourself. I want you to feel like you can breathe, be silly, be tender, be quiet, or be wild, depending on who you are.
Outside of photography, I’m a creative at heart — a Vikings fan, a lover of cozy days, and someone who’s always collecting inspiration from the world around me. I treasure the small moments, the nostalgic ones, the ones you don’t realize you’ll miss until later. That’s probably why photography feels less like a job and more like an extension of how I already see life.
If you’re looking for photos that feel warm, intentional, and deeply personal, I’d be honored to create them with you.
